The Journey
From Tarragona to La Liga
Born July 26, 2006, in Vilassar de Mar near Barcelona, I've always been a lifelong FC Barcelona fan. My dream has always been playing at Camp Nou. My journey started at Gimnàstic de Tarragona, where I scored 18 goals in 28 matches to become top scorer and help secure our team's promotion.
"Football has always been my obsession. I was at school waiting for the afternoon to arrive so I could go train and, of course, I dreamed of the weekend to play the match. Football is the only thing that interests me, along with my family and my friends."
La Masia Dream
In summer 2024, Barcelona called. Joining La Masia was a dream come true. With Juvenil A, we won the historic treble—Liga División de Honor, Copa del Rey Juvenil, and UEFA Youth League. I scored 7 goals across 33 appearances and trained with Hansi Flick's first team during pre-season.
"When you're at Barça, training and playing with such good teammates, you improve in everything without realizing it. You improve in control, passing, vision of the game, positioning, technique - everything."
The Difficult Decision
It hurt to leave Barcelona, but I chose playing time over prestige. At 19, I needed opportunities to develop. RCD Mallorca offered that chance, and coach Jagoba Arrasate showed faith in me. Just two days after signing, I made my La Liga debut at Santiago Bernabéu against Real Madrid.
"I flipped when Jagoba Arrasate called me." I had just gotten home from one of many preseason training sessions when my agents told me Mallorca wanted me 'no matter what.' The next day, the coach called and said literally: 'I want you here on Saturday.' I flipped - it filled me with pride, since I hadn't even played in Segunda División."
Overcoming Early Setbacks
Espanyol Rejection: "When in my second year of pre-benjamín, Espanyol discarded me, I cried a lot. I still remember the moment my father told me. Everyone says it and I can confirm it - if you overcome those moments, you grow, you become stronger."
Character Development: After being released from La Damm for behavioral issues, Jan had to mature quickly. "I had a very strong character, I reacted very impulsively, I was very restless. Fortunately, as I've grown older, I've matured and my behavior changed. A lot."
Nomadic Career: Jan has changed teams frequently in his young career. "The most I've been at the same club is two years. Maybe that's why I've been at so many clubs - I don't know if I didn't understand others or they didn't understand me."
Playing Philosophy
Role Model: "I could say Leo Messi because he's the best footballer in history, but I'll say that I've always watched Neymar. I identify a lot with his way of understanding football, the game, without fear of taking on the defender face-to-face, trying to do different things that don't always work, of course."
Barcelona Education: "At Barça I learned to play with a lot of possession. At Barça, the wingers got a lot of balls, so you could try more. In other teams, you have fewer opportunities, and you have to be more focused. If you make three good plays, they're worth more than 20 dribbles without a result."
Playing Without Pressure: "When playing football, I've never felt pressure. Maybe that's why I'm where I am - because I play the same in Primera División as with my friends in Vilassar de Mar."
Spain U21 Debut: The Perfect Night
November 14, 2025
My Spain U21 debut against San Marino was everything I dreamed of. Two goals, including a spectacular curling shot from outside the box that hit the crossbar before going in. Named Man of the Match in our 7-0 victory. "It was the perfect night, the debut I dreamed of."
The Atlético Madrid Moment
September 21, 2025
Coming on as a substitute against Atlético Madrid, I had 15 "diabolical minutes" that changed everything. I terrorized their defense with pace and dribbling, delivering the perfect cross for Vedat Muriqi's equalizer in the 85th minute. That's when Mallorca fans truly embraced me. That's when I gained real confidence.
